During his 45-minute slideshow presentation, Julian will take you on his very personal literary journey to become a published author. He will share with you the trials and tribulations of writing and publishing.
Julian Mitchell was born in Hereford in 1948 and has lived in six other counties in England and a county in Wales before moving to Ivybridge in 2005. His inspiration for his debut crime fiction novel is the beautiful and sometimes treacherous landscape of Dartmoor.

ABOUT THE NOVEL: ‘Missing on Dartmoor’
Mary Cranson had done the walk many times before, but now had simply vanished from Dartmoor near the prominent landmark called Haytor.
For the investigating officer, Detective Inspector Richard King, the intriguing aspect is that many of her friends knew she would be on the moor as she had told them of her intentions the previous evening. Could she have been consumed by one of the notorious bogs or is the reason for her disappearance something altogether more sinister?
